What's happening in Years 10, 11 and 12.
It’s been a big term for the senior students. They have settled into their studies and most have produced some really great work.
Year 12 Team building excursion- this was a great day out. The students raced around the city finding clues and making good relationships with their peers and teachers. The victors were Sebastian, Muqeet, Rowan and Ashirya. They then got to visit the Glenroy Learning Hub to see what it offers to support them with their studies.
Swimming carnival- students were dressed in their team colours and team spirit was high. There were some great swimming efforts and the year 12s went all out getting dressed up.
Study Sensei- all senior students had a study skills session delivered by the team from Elevate. They taught us all about the keys to study- highlighting and chunking your work, planning your study and revision timelines before exams and using trigger words. Hopefully the students can put these strategies into practise to help them be successful!
Reminder that students need to keep up to date with all their class work. If they are getting behind, they can attend small group tutoring on Monday or Wednesdays. There are also lunchtime sessions running on Monday and Thursdays.

Throughout this term, and for the upcoming terms, our four School Captains have been working on projects around different areas within the school. Angus is looking into constructing a more effective house colour system, specifically the competitions for the upcoming year. Alishba is working on reworking around the canteen, including prices and food variety. Ahida is looking into improving the well-being services within our school and spread awareness to students. Aya is focusing on planning different sporting events, and inclusivity of more people. Each of these Captains are accompanied by Senior leaders, working to help progress closer to achieving goals within their assigned projects.
🌟Year 12 Urban Quest Excursion 🌟
On Thursday, our Year 12s took part in an Amazing Race around Melbourne! They competed for a trophy (and bragging rights), and showed their knowledge of the city grid. They also showed their great teamwork skills, experienced a sense of achievement and of course, showed respect to others while moving through the city. A congratulations to Ms Hollands Team for coming first and in the top 20 finishing times for ALL schools involved in Urban Quests Amazing Race. 🏆
We are looking forward to working with all of our year 12s to have a successful year! We can’t wait to see what this year will bring 😊”
Glenroy College has introduced the Cert III VET beauty program this year, and it's been a phenomenal start! Students from Glenroy College, as well as students from other local secondary schools, are are participating in the course.
Currently students are working really hard on their assessments for work place health and safety and infection control, and are doing amazingly demonstrating their new learnt knowledge.
We are all looking forward to begin design and apply makeup after the break!
