Stringfest

On Thursday 28 May, 10 Violin and Cello students from Berwick College headed to Mentone Girls Secondary College for the Southeast Region’s annual String Fest! Violin, Viola, Cello and Double Bass students from several secondary schools came together to form a massive string orchestra with a guest conductor, to rehearse and perform music in a single day. For many of our students it was their first String Fest, and they had a great time playing challenging and fun music, while meeting and making friends with students from other schools. 

It was a bittersweet experience for our Year 12 Cello student Evi, as it was her last String Fest with the school. Students will receive a copy of the audio recordings of the performed songs, to keep as a memento of their achievements. 

The day was an overall wonderful, fun and valuable experience for all students involved!
