Exams - Year 10/11
As we move further into the term, Year 10 and 11 students are reminded that exams are approaching later this term. It is important that students are consistently studying, revising class content, and asking their teachers as many questions as possible to ensure they feel prepared and confident. Developing strong study habits now will help students achieve their best results. Please remember your teachers are here to assist you, reach out and ask as many questions as possible as this is the key to success!
Year 12 PE
As part of our Fitness Components unit, one Year 12 student volunteered to complete a VO₂ Max test as a demonstration for the class. The test measured aerobic fitness and cardiovascular endurance, providing students with a real-life example of how fitness can be assessed. By observing the testing process and analysing the results, students were able to make stronger connections between the fitness components they have been studying in class and how they apply to physical performance. This practical demonstration helped bring their learning to life and deepen their understanding of fitness testing and its role in improving performance.
Year 9 PE
This term, Year 9 students have been designing and creating their own minor games before sharing them with the class. Working in groups, students developed game rules, equipment requirements, and scoring systems while considering how to make their activities fun, safe and inclusive. After planning their games, students had the opportunity to lead their classmates through the activities and explain the rules. This task encouraged creativity, teamwork, communication, and leadership skills, while also helping students develop a deeper understanding of game design and participation. It has been great to see the enthusiasm and originality students have brought to their games.
Year 7 & 8 PE – Fitness Components
This term, Year 7 and 8 students have been learning about the different components of fitness through a range of practical activities and games. Students explored components such as cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, speed, agility, and coordination, while developing an understanding of how each contributes to physical performance. These activities are helping to build a strong foundation of knowledge and skills that will support students as they progress through Physical Education and prepare for future VCE studies. It has been great to see students actively participating, challenging themselves, and developing their understanding of fitness in a fun and engaging environment.
Course Counselling Information
Students and families are encouraged to keep an eye out for upcoming course counselling information. These sessions provide an important opportunity to explore subject options, discuss future pathways, and make informed decisions about studies for next year. Further details regarding dates, times, and course selection processes will be communicated soon. We encourage students to take advantage of these opportunities and begin thinking about their future learning goals and interests.
