From the Principal

Dear families,

Welcome to Week 8 and welcome to Winter. It was great to see so many families join us for the assembly last week. It was very much a sport focused assembly showcasing the amazing willingness to try that is indicative of our school and community.

This week we have students representing the school at the Riverina Cross Country and wish each of them the best of luck. Next week ACS is hosting the PSSA Athletics in Wagga Wagga, and I would like to thank Mrs Sloan for the organisation of this, and the P&C for their amazing efforts in providing catering on the day. They are always looking for support, so if you are attending the event and even have an hour to give back to the school, please let them know.

Last Wednesday the KROP audition was submitted. I would like to say how proud I am of all the students who gave up their recess and lunch times for rehearsals. Play time is precious and the dedication did not go unnoticed.

Uniform Update

Thank you to the families who continue to support the school and the students in maintaining the standard of uniform. As I have said before, Primary are nailing it in general. Yes, we still have the occasional Oodie and Crocs issue (they can stay at home). We also understand disasters do cause there to be creative dressing on the odd occasion, but most students in primary are wearing their uniform with pride.

Secondary are still not so great. We are currently discussing reasons with the secondary students and will be discussing their suggestions with the P&C. We have sadly had several comments from outside of school about the state of uniform at ACS and the reflection this has on us as a school. With all the amazing experiences we offer our community I would hate for lack of uniform to be what we are known as.

Phones

Secondary students will again be reminded of the rules around phones. There have been reports of students using their phones inappropriately. Please remind your children of the safety implications and the fact that phones are not allowed. We are almost at the point where they will not be allowed to be stored in lockers, but will be required to be handed in to the office.
