Japanese Day

Wow!! What an amazing day we have had at St Mary’s celebrating all things Japanese!!
The day started with a fun parade by all the children with their very creative costumes!
The students then returned to their classroom to participate in various activities related to Japan and Japanese culture.
Some of the activities the children participated in were making traditional Japanese toys, origami, Japanese art, sumo wrestling, an amazing race, making hachimaki headbands and uchiwa fans.
The highlight of the day was the Yr 5/6 students demonstrating their drumming skills to the whole school at the end of the day.
It was an excellent day and lots of fun was had by all!
A big thankyou to all the classroom teachers who assisted with the running of the activities and making the day a huge success. Many thanks also to Nicole and Silke for assisting in the canteen and delivering delicious sushi for the children.
Aritago!
