Learning In My Level

And we're back!

Term 2 has kicked off in typical busy Rangeview fashion!

Foundation:

It was great to welcome back our youngest cohort after a well deserved break. The Foundation students have settled back in smoothly and they had the exciting news of their Readers coming home earlier this week!

Another visit from the Fire Fighters was the major highlight of the first couple of weeks of the term. The students had a ball firing the huge firehose out on to the oval and exploring the inside of the firetruck!

Year 1 and 2:

Our junior students participated in Craftpower woodwork incursions across this week. They had a lot of fun creating miniature wooden cars!

Year 3 and 4:

A couple of our Year 4 classes visited Scienceworks earlier this week to kick-start their Term 2 inquiry unit. All students reported back that they had an absolute ball!

Year 5 and 6:

Our senior students began the new term with some fancy 'Book Tasting' sessions as they prepare for their Literature Circles. All students got to have a 'taste' of a range of different texts, and then provided the teachers with preferences of what they might like to read (with a group) across the term. This is a great way to engage the students as it provides them with some student voice and choice.

Our Year 6 students also participated in an incursion run by the Pat Cronin Foundation last week. This incursion provided such a valuable message to our students around violence and the importance of making the right decisions in social situations to look after ourselves and others. Their overarching message of 'Be Wise, Think Carefully, Act Kindly' links closely to our own school values and what we want to see from our students each and every day.

Keep an eye on this page over the term for each level to update with all the wonderful events happening across the school!
