Partnerships and Pathways

Our Year 9 and 10 students have begun building bright futures, through the recent Future Ready pathways and careers seminar, delivered by the innovative team at Crazy Ideas College. This engaging workshop inspired and empowered our students on their future-focused journeys, supporting them with tools, strategies and time to reflect on subject choices and post-school pathways. Through collaborative activities and the creation of personal Future Ready Plans, students explored their strengths, interests and aspirations — taking confident first steps toward their goals.

Careers & Pathways Wellbeing lessons have been diving into the world of personal strengths and skills, which form the foundation for future goals, growth and career success. Using engaging resources from our partner organisation Study Work Grow, the focus has been on human skills — our everyday "superpowers" like communication, teamwork and problem-solving. These essential, transferable skills are the key to unlocking a wide range of career opportunities across industries. Students’ skills are developing at school, home and within the community and by recognising these strengths, they’re building confidence and a flexible, open mindset about the future. In the near term, reflecting on these skills can guide decisions on electives for Years 9 and 10, navigating the HSC, or exploring post-school pathways.

Our Lunch and Learn guest speaker series recently featured ADF Careers and WSU. Able Seaman White and Corporal Lovekin gave students an inspiring insight into the diverse career opportunities within the Australian Defence Force. From hands-on trades to cutting-edge tech roles, students discovered how the ADF supports a wide range of skills and ambitions, alongside benefits like travel, personal growth and the chance to serve with purpose. We were thrilled to welcome back Alumnae Ana Setiu Tuala, now a Future Student Engagement Officer at Western Sydney University, as the first guest in our Discover the UNIverse Lunch and Learn series. Ana shared valuable insights with students from Years 9 to 12, covering university life, degree options, campus facilities, pathway programs and WSU’s True Reward early entry program. It was a fantastic opportunity for students to explore what their future at university could look like. Thank you, Ana, for an inspiring and informative session!

Our newest (and furriest) team member in Pathways & Careers is already making headlines, turning heads and stealing hearts! But… is missing one thing - a NAME! This friendly monster is here to help our students book career coaching sessions, ask their pressing pathways questions and share bright ideas for what they'd like featured in the careers space, including our Lunch and Learn guest speaker series. But before they get to work, we need a name that captures the spirit of this "future-ready legend". Submit your best name ideas here - the best one might just make history!

For any pathways enquiries, or to book a coaching conversation (in addition to the Careers Monster!) - students can pop into the library or email us: amacnamara1@parra.catholic.edu.au and koliver4@parra.catholic.edu.au
