Avalon Airshow

On Friday 28th of March 45 students from Yr 7- 12 attended the Avalon Airshow. Students had the opportunity to watch aerobatic displays, walk through a variety of aircraft, speak to a wider range of people employed in the aviation industry. The was a great way for students to see the complexity of the aviation industry and to realise the vast number of industries and opportunities in this field beyond those that are highly visible.

Trade Fit (Women in Trades) – Expression of Interest to attend.

Build your future! Years 7-12 female and gender diverse students are invited to explore the exciting world of trade and tech industries.

Experience hands-on activities, engaging displays and supportive conversations lead by women working in diverse industries. Learn about rewarding well-paid career opportunities in traditionally male focused industries. Arrive and Thrive

Year 10 students received a presentation from Tyson from Arrive and Thrive. This session is a wider component of the career development and pathways planning work our Yr 10 will be focused on in the near future. The session will help the students to develop a sense of agency over their pathways and provided some self-reflections tools.

L2P program.

This program is about giving young people aged 16-21 the chance to get the driving experience they need to achieve their probationary license. With the support of our volunteer mentors, learners who might be facing some challenges—like financial or family barriers—can work towards their 120 hours of supervised driving.

If you know of any students who could use a hand getting their hours up, we’d love for you to refer them our way. We’re looking for learners who:

  • Are 16-21 years old
  • Live in the Nillumbik area
  • Have a current learner's permit
  • Have no access to suitable car or supervising driver or other challenging circumstances that preclude them from accruing hours.
