Junior School News

What's happening in Years 7, 8 and 9.

A Strong Start to the Year

We have had a fantastic start to the year, particularly with our students in Years 7-9. Their readiness to learn and embrace our college values - achievement, integrity, respect, and teamwork - has been commendable. Students demonstrating these values have been awarded Glenroy Gold Cards, a testament to their positive start and commitment to excellence.

Year 7 Camp at Camp Rumbug

Our Year 7 students recently embarked on an unforgettable adventure at Camp Rumbug in Foster North. Over three action-packed days, they took on exciting challenges, built resilience, and formed lasting friendships. Students pushed themselves with activities like high ropes, canoeing, and the famous mud run, where teamwork and perseverance were on full display. They also enjoyed bushwalking, raft building, and campfire storytelling, creating special moments of laughter and connection.

Beyond the activities, the camp was an opportunity for students to bond with peers and staff outside the classroom. Teachers and students encouraged each other, strengthening relationships and fostering a true sense of community. By the end of camp, students returned tired but proud, having gained confidence, new friendships, and memories to last a lifetime. A big thank you to our staff and students for making this experience so special!

Junior School Welcome Night

The Glenroy College Parent Welcome Night was a special event for families to meet teachers, learn about school programs, and connect with the community. Parents and guardians took a tour of the school, and spoke with staff to understand how to support their child’s learning. The evening helps build strong relationships between home and school, creating a welcoming and supportive environment. It’s also a great chance for families to meet other parents and feel involved in their child’s education journey at Glenroy College. Thanks for everyone for attending!

Food Technology

Students at Glenroy always love being in the food rooms and cooking up a storm. This year students have made built their skills in many areas of food preparation, with a particular favourite being the Apple Cinnamon Muffins!

Ready to Learn

At Glenroy College, we believe in equipping our students with all the tools they need to succeed from day one. Understanding the importance of being prepared, we offer "Ready to Learn" stationary packs available for purchase at the general office. These packs contain essential items to ensure that every student is well-prepared for their classes, fostering an environment where learning can thrive from the very beginning.
