YEAR 6 Camp
A CAMP RECOUNT by: Yug.A
Last week was by far the best camp ever. With around 10 camp rotations plus 3 night activities, two popular rotations were surfing & the circatron. Today I will talk to you about CYC Phillip island year 6 camp & 3 of my personal favourite activities that were also loved by others. 1. Circatron, loved by all & possibly the best activity. 2. Disco. this was something no one could deny so it was going to be in full swing. 3. Amaze n thing, a big rival to all the activities & maybe as good as the circatron.
Circatron
Getting to go on a once in a lifetime zero gravity simulator was not something I expected to do on camp. After first hearing what the circatron was no one had heard of it, the explanation for this was that only three circatrons existed in the southern hemisphere. I was mind boggled to find that two circatrons were at camp, so I was quite proud of how many flips & tricks I could do alongside my comrades. Since the circatron had a medium metal cage inside to which we were strapped I was really nervous, but my group had a great time because our instructor actually started playing music while we were on the tron ( circatron. ) This would be a start to never ending fun.
DISCO
What a classic!! No one could forget that night & not only because most of us lost our voice in some way or another # it was totally worth it. The whole grade created a dance pit & our D.J splashed out some great songs as we sang & danced, now the vibe was set. We never let up & eventually even some teachers got in on the groove. Suddenly the party had become a fiesta. Even if the party started slowing down someone would plan a big jump or something while executing it in the dance circle. It may sound weird, but before the party went on full almost no one came, later on though was different, so as the sun dimmed over the horizon our numbers grew. Although it was a long night of partying we all enjoyed a good nights worth of rest.
Amaze n things
For the second last night the school couldn't have chosen a better activity. Totally maxed to the brim with fun games, this fun zone had four areas my ( my group started with a long & witty maze. ) Many people completed the maze in which you had to reach four flags & get out in 20 or so minutes. Even though we had completed a big maze the group was pumped for... Mini golf! It was a wild 18 hole golf course with twists & turns like you've never seen. We had not much time but we used it wisely. Our third activity was a giant fun room filled with weird simulators, but the highlight was a gargantuan high drop. Next was a mirror maze & last of this long journey was a gravity room, again simulating a astronauts life. Finally came the famed Karles magic manor based around 19th century magic. Inside was rooms of endless magic tricks plus other fascinating things, they even made Rachel ( our group teacher ) disappear! So after such a long rotation we trudged back to camp shivering with excitement.
Year six camp was by far the best camp. With something to look forward to every day. Each day brought new surprises & loads of fun. This is why the year six camp is the G.C.O.A.T ( greatest camp of all time ). Our school could not have chosen a better place to go.
Credits
Thank you to the school for booking this wonderful camp & making it possible to have fun.
Thanks to Cassie & Rowan for being amazing parent helpers, we couldn't have done it without you.
Thanks to all camp staff for managing & running activities.

Year Camp to Phillip Island
By Charlie Lumalasi
For some people camp started off with a bang finding out their cabins andactivities groups, but for others the feel of homesick kicked in. Finding out thatyou’re in a cabin with all your friends is awesome! So is going on a giantswing, twin flying fox and doing flips on the Circotron.
At camp we had some delicious food including: burgers, chocolate cakes, spaghetti and raspberry sorbet. The best bit about camp were the activitieswhere you could fly down hills on the twin flying fox, soar through the air like superman on the giant swing and speed over waves while surfing! Even though some of the activities seemed scary it was all totally optional. The hardest thing about camp was the fact that I got no friends in my cabin but either way camp was still super fun. On the first night we had a movie night watching Spider Man into the spider verse but the second night was even better because we went to A Maze n Things and played mini golf and did lots of cool activity rooms and even a drop slide. On the third night we had the disco, the DJ played all of our favourite songs that we made a mosh pit to dance to, where one or more people would get in the middle and dance to the music.
On the trip back we watched Smurfs while playing truth or dare on the bus. Eventually the bus trip ended and camp ended. I would give the Phillip Island Adventure Resort an eight out of ten.
