As we return to school, we are excited for the term ahead! Our teachers have planned some fantastic learning experiences and activities that will inspire and engage the children. We look forward to seeing students continue to thrive, develop new skills, and make new friends.

Be sure to keep an eye on the school calendar for school events and activities, and reach out if you have any questions.

Wishing you all a smooth and successful start to the term. Here’s to a wonderful and productive few months ahead!

Anzac Day

Anzac Day is a public holiday which means both school and TeamKids will be closed this Friday 25 April.

Each year, some students and their families attend the Flemington Kensington RSL Dawn Service. This year Allison will represent Holy Rosary. If your family will be attending the service, please email frontoffice@hrkensington.catholic.edu.au

Term Overviews:  They're back!

Term overviews will replace the Curriculum page in the weekly newsletter and will be released for parents via email, in Week 3 or 4, providing a clear outline of the learning planned for each subject area. Aligned with the Victorian Curriculum, these overviews will highlight key learning outcomes, ensuring families are informed of the focus for the term. They will also include suggested activities to support learning at home, helping students reinforce their skills outside the classroom. Additionally, the overviews will feature each class’s timetable, allowing parents to stay informed about their child’s weekly schedule. By offering this comprehensive insight, we aim to strengthen the partnership between school and home, fostering a supportive learning environment for all students.

New Staff at Holy Rosary

Meet Rose! She will teach 3/4 White with Sophie, commencing next month. She is currently teaching in Prep, replacing Emily while she is on leave.

Hello Holy Rosary Families,

I am really looking forward to teaching at Holy Rosary and getting to know  students and their families. I have recently moved from Tasmania where I taught in Catholic Education. I have loved teaching upper primary school for the past 3 years and I am eager to continue in Year 3/4 at Holy Rosary. I love sports including yoga, netball and soccer, and enjoy finding the time to play sports with my students! I am passionate about inclusive education and building positive relationships with my students. I look forward to meeting all of you very soon!

Welcome Ava! Ava will teach 3/4 Sky, commencing next month. She is currently teaching PE and she taught Art in Term 1. Ava is also known to students as she completed her final uni prac at Holy Rosary last year.

Hello everyone,

I am very excited about joining the Holy Rosary community as a new staff member. I am from Ascot Vale but went to school in Kensington, so I am familiar with the community. On the weekends I enjoy taking my dog, Bear, on long walks, baking, reading and playing netball with friends. I am a graduate teacher with a Bachelor in Primary and Secondary Education, with a major in Geography, completing my final placement here at HR last year. I have been doing Casual Relief Teaching here at HR, so I am already familiar with the children and the values that the school upholds.

I am looking forward to working with the children to provide a safe, enjoyable and supportive learning environment for all students to grow.

With warm wishes for a wonderful term,

Christine
