Year 11 into Year 12 Study Camp

Year 11 students have participated in a 3-day study camp at Camp Coolamatong on the Banksia Peninsula. The camp is designed to enable students to be prepared to start Year 12 in a positive and well-resourced manner. Students, both VCE and VCE VM engaged in a variety of activities with a focus on team building, and health and well-being.

The students enjoyed raft making, stand up paddle boarding, combat archery, canoeing, a fun night hike, a boat trip to The Grange and an entertaining dress up night.

VM Market Day

As part of their Personal Development program VM students conducted a Market Day stall on Tuesday 12th November. Students have spent the past term developing a business proposal, plan and marketing strategies to promote the product that they manufactured on site here at school. Items for sale included wooden Christmas decorations, soft toys, jewellery, key rings, artwork, jams, chutneys and dips, biscuits, slices, deconstructed brownie mix, dog biscuits, vegetable seedlings, potted plants and homemade pasta sauce. Students presented their produce for sale in a variety of ways and had the opportunity to showcase their work along with their marketing and enterprising skills.

VCAA Exams

Our Year 12 VCE students have been working hard, studying and sitting their exams and the end is in sight. Students could choose during the exam period to study at home or came onsite to do their revision.  Pictured below is some of the students completing Health and Human Development onsite last week for exam preparation. We look forward to celebrating with all our Year 12 students next week at the Graduation evening on Thursday.

VCE Business Management

On Friday 8th November the Year 11 Business Management classes were lucky enough to visit Lakes Entrance to consolidate our learning in key concepts studied in Units 1 and 2.

Our first stop was the service business Saltwater Properties. We learnt about staffing within the business and the different roles that are required. The students then identified what made a shop front appealing and what type of business/product was offered. Next stop was the manufacturing business Big Bear Donuts. We learnt about how they scaled up and again how they keep staff employed during the non-peak travel season. Finally, the students then identified different types of businesses. Overall, the students learnt a great deal about how and why businesses operate.

Donation of second-hand uniform and textbooks

Our hub would greatly appreciate any donations of second-hand uniform or textbooks that students are no longer using or have outgrown.
