Year 4 Geckoes and Koalas

A splashing start to term 4 in year 4!

We’ve had a fantastic start to the term in Year 4, and we’re excited to share some of the wonderful things happening in our classroom!

This term has kicked off with great enthusiasm, and our Year 4 students have been diving into their learning—both in and out of the classroom! Our swimming lessons have been a highlight, where we’ve not only enjoyed the water but also practiced important survival skills, ensuring we're confident and safe swimmers.

It’s been great to see their confidence grow in the water, and we’re proud of how everyone is putting in their best effort. These sessions have not only been fun but have also given students an opportunity to stay active and develop important life skills.

In the classroom, our English sessions have been vibrant with creativity. Students have been diligently crafting narratives, dissecting model texts to understand storytelling elements, and applying these insights to their own writing. It's inspiring to witness their imaginations flourish.

In Religion, we’ve started our new topic on Baptism. We’ve explored some beautiful scriptures from the Bible that relate to this sacrament, and the students have shown their creativity by producing thoughtful and vibrant artwork inspired by these passages.

It's been a wonderful start to the term, and we look forward to the exciting learning ahead!

Pre-Kindergarten - Little Adventurers

In Pre-Kindy, we are fortunate to have rolling start dates throughout the year as children join us after their third birthday and as they prepare for Kindy next year. This term we have welcomed seven new friends to our Pre-Kindy class and we have loved showing them how much fun we have, all the while learning through play.

The children have enjoyed lots of role play in our ice-cream shop, with some children even bringing in photos of them enjoying ice-creams recently. Through their imaginative play, the children are learning to share resources, cooperate with one another and negotiate various roles. Oral language is also a focus as the children are encouraged to ask questions and initiate conversations as they pretend to make, serve and request all sorts of icy treats!

With so many new children, we have been spending lots of time engaging in activities that encourage the children to play alongside others and support the children to establish connections with others in the class.
