Prayer
October is the month of Mary, and from the book Mother Mary: Pope Francis states:
“Here I would like to emphasise the beauty of a simple contemplative prayer, accessible to all, great and small, the educated and those with little education. It is the prayer of the Holy Rosary. In the Rosary we turn to the Virgin Mary so that she may guide us to an ever closer union with her Son Jesus to bring us into conformity with Him, to have His sentiments and to behave like Him. Indeed, in the Rosary while we repeat the Hail Mary we meditate on the Mysteries, on the events of Christ’s life, so as to know and love Him ever better. The Rosary is an effective means for opening ourselves to God, for it helps us to overcome egotism and to bring peace to hearts, in the family, in society and in the world.”
And together we pray…
Heavenly Father, as we pray this holy Rosary, we ask for Your presence to fill our hearts and minds. Through Mary, our Mother, may we be drawn closer to Jesus. May each bead we touch, and each prayer we offer, be a step toward growing in faith, hope, and charity.
We offer this Rosary for all the intentions in our hearts: for peace in our world, healing in our souls, and grace to live according to what You teach us. Strengthen us in times of trial, give us patience and humility, and guide us always to Your divine truth.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, as we meditate upon the mysteries of Jesus’s life, death, and resurrection, grant us the grace to understand and imitate His virtues. May we, through this holy devotion, be led ever closer to God and receive the joy of eternal life.
We place our needs in Your loving hands. Amen.
