Emmanuel College
It’s clay time again and students are again experiencing the wonderful medium of clay in the year 8Art Classes. They have been experimenting with hand building techniques and using the Pottery Wheel. Fun Times ahead. Students’ artwork is appreciated and displayed on campus and at times, at other venues. Twenty-three artworks created by Emmanuel College students have been on display at the Hobsons Bay - My Canvas Art Exhibition.
Students were asked to register their interest to create a canvas of their own design and submit for exhibition. Many students chose to work on the canvas at home and during Art Club at NDC and the quality of the work displayed was outstanding. The work is on display until the 22nd of October in the front foyer of the Civic Centre, Civic Parade Altona and entry is free.
The curators at Hobsons Bay had the challenge of choosing the work that they awarded Merit Certificates to, and we are very proud that Emmanuel College has been awarded 2 nd Prize. Congratulations to all students who took part by creating such great work. Mrs Tania King, Art Teacher NDC.
The Year 4 Experience is a great way for students from Catholic Feeder Primary Schools to see what life is like at secondary school, and participate in Science, Art and Sport activities and share morning tea and lunch. Last week we welcomed Year 4’s from Lumen Christi Primary School and it was wonderful to see their enthusiasm and excitement about being at Emmanuel College.
