Welcome to Ringwood North Primary School

Hello, and congratulations on choosing a wonderful school for your child. Ringwood North PS is a community, we care for each other and work tirelessly to help our students be the best they can be.

Parents and children are understandably nervous about the transition to primary school but I can assure you that your child will be nurtured, admired and challenged in equal measure at Ringwood North Primary School. With the combination of these newsletters and the onsite transition sessions you and your child will hopefully start to feel that you are getting to know the school, the teachers and what to expect in 2025.

This week you can help your child explore the physical environment of the school. In future editions, we will introduce some of the teachers your child will be getting to know.

The newsletter will be sent to you on Fridays until early December.

While this process can be daunting for some, a little surprise can be a lot of fun. So don't forget to help your child anticipate the unknown, rather than dread it. At RNPS, we firmly believe that learning and exploring is fun and exciting.

We hope you have fun getting to know our school over the next few weeks.

Enrolment information

All families should have completed an online enrolment form via Student Insight by now, but there are a few things that you may still need to follow up. Below is a checklist for parents:

  • Do you need to update information? e.g. have you changed phone numbers or address since submitting the form?
  • Did you provide copies of your child's birth certificate and immunisation record? If not, please follow this up and send through to the office.
  • Is your email correct? Do both parents want to receicve communication from us? Sometimes we fall into habits of giving old email addresses for any sign-up list but emails are a critical means of communication for us.
This newsletter gets sent directly to all parent emails we have on file from the enrolment forms, so if it's not reaching you:
  1. Check your spam folder
  2. Subscribe to the newsletter with a preferred email address
  3. Contact the office to update to a preferred email address.
  • Did you provide full emergency contact details? Are these up-to-date?
  • Did you provide all medical details on the enrolment form? Even conditions that are well-managed and rarely cause an issue for your child (e.g. asthma, allergies) are important for us to know. Any diagnosed condition should also be listed in the medical information (e.g. Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD), even if the presenting behaviours are minor. This information helps us always provide the best and most appropriate care in all situations and is only shared with the people who need it.
  • Does your child have a medical condition that requires an Action Plan? This includes: asthma, allergies, anaphylaxis and epilepsy. These plans need to be developed with your GP and supplied to the school. Plans should be updated annually.
