Although we all want our children to succeed academically, the foundation for that success lies not just in intelligence or motivation, but in the study habits they develop.Balance is key. While academics are important, so too is maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Adequate sleep, a nutritious diet, and regular physical activity are non-negotiable aspects of a student's life that directly influence their ability to study effectively. Fostering these healthy study habits is one of the greatest gifts we can give children, setting them up for a lifetime of learning and success.
I've also included information from Dr. Caroline Leaf who studies the mind-brain connection, and she is a cognitive neuroscientist with a PhD in Communication Pathology specializing in Neuropsychology.
Dr Leaf has written several books which include:
Switch On Your Brain
Cleaning Up Your Mental Mess
How to Help Your Child Clean Up Their Mental Mess
Think and Eat Yourself Smart
Think, Learn and Succeed
The Perfect You
In this video, Dr Leaf talks about '3 ways to Stop Overthinking'.
If you have time, this video is on 'The Dangers of Black and White Thinking'.
It's important to be kind to yourself. The best way we can help our children is to provide our own mental health support, and in doing so, our children will benefit.
