As we approach the end of the school year, Secondary Years students have been exploring various ways to be thinkers. In the IB context, a thinker considers problems from both creative and critical perspectives, regardless of complexity.
Last week, Year 10 Humanities students were challenged to reflect on international aid and how to support those lacking basic needs. This week, Year 9 students put their thinking into action by sharing their learnings from the Community Project.
Being a thinker is challenging; it requires taking risks, being vulnerable in sharing ideas, and bravely questioning others' beliefs. At GNLC, we encourage students to think, examine, and consider situations deeply, prompting them to reflect on questions like, "What am I here for?" and "What's my purpose?"

Year 8 Humanities students went on a field trip to Werribee Foreshore as part of their Landforms and Land Uses unit. They visited Werribee South Pier and Beach, Campbell's Cove near the beach shacks, and Cheetham Wetlands Observation Tower. Students collected water and soil samples, drew field sketches, measured gradients and observed longshore drifts. It was a fun day out in the sun to learn essential Geography skills!
