Sowing the SEADs of Success

From the Assistant Principal Wellbeing and Engagement R-12

Galentine’s Day 14 February

Last Friday, we celebrated “Gal Pals” at Loreto College Marryatville.

An important message for our students is to celebrate fellowship, friendship and sisterhood. Our students are encouraged to F.L.Y. (First, Love, Yourself) with the message “how you love yourself is how to teach others to love you”.

400 years ago, the founder of Loreto Schools, Mary Ward promoted the importance of "an open circle of friends". To expand on Mary Ward's vision, we encourage "open" and supportive dialogue between girls, sisters, daughters, aunts, mothers, grandmothers and women.

We rise by lifting others in our community, especially on Galentine’s Day! Women in time to come will do much!

Health Care Centre - Process for Parents:

If your daughter is unwell during the school day, she will be seen by the Health Care Centre staff and an assessment will be done. After assessment, the Health Care Centre staff will determine if it is appropriate to contact parents or return the student to class.

Students should not be messaging their parents via their personal phones/email to be collected from school if unwell.

Thank you for your cooperation in supporting our College processes.

The Health Care Centre is staffed by a Registered Nurse during school hours, 8:30am-3:30pm. Staff in the Health Care Centre are responsible for first aid, emergency care and the management of specific individual health care plans.

The Health Care Centre provides a warm and friendly setting to ensure a comfortable environment for the care of our day students and our boarding community.

Students using the Health Care Centre are required to obtain permission from their teacher.

All treatment will be communicated to parents. Students are not permitted to contact parents directly regarding illness or collection from school.
