My Lord and My God
We at St Thomas are very saddened by the passing of our beautiful Sr Julie. She has been a huge part of our schools story and will be dearly missed by staff, students and families. We will especially miss the wide smile and genuine connection she made with each and every one of us. May she rest in peace.
Please read the beautiful message shared by Bishop Greg Bennet on Tuesday.
Good morning dear Fathers, deacons, dear friends,
As the sunrises, I write to convey the sad news of the death of Sr Julie Ogbole SON who died peacefully in the early hours of this morning at Monash Hospital.
Sisters Faustina, Victoria, Grace, were keeping prayerful vigil with their beloved sister.
Sr Julie returned to hospital on Sunday and her health deteriorated very quickly. Her suffering is over and she is at peace.
Please pray for Sr Julie that she may now enjoy the eternal love of God in whom she had placed her trust.
The Sisters of the Nativity have given us powerful witness, together with the parish team and community of St Thomas the Apostle, Clyde North and St Agatha’s, Cranbourne.
We also remember Sr Julie’s mother and family in Nigeria for whom Sr Julie’s death is a terrible shock.
We recall also the Sisters of Nativity in Nigeria and other communities who have lost such a devoted sister in Christ.
May dear Sr Julie, rest in peace and rise in glory!
Greg Bennet
Sister Julies funeral mass will take place in our parish church on Monday 3rd March.
We will communicate with families in Week 5 as to any logistical changes we may need to make for the students on this day.
It was great to see such great numbers on Wednesday night, at the start of our Reconciliation Program for 2025. We were treated to the entertaining Fr Elio Capra, who presented to nearly a hundred parents for the Formation Night! I've personally seen Fr Elio many times for Sacramental information nights, and every time, I learn something new. He certainly has a way of bringing together humour and learning when talking to people about the love of God!
The next step for our Reconciliation candidates is the Parent/Child Workshop. We have two dates available for families but you only need to attend one. This is for ONE parent and your Reconciliation candidate. Due to the large number we have enrolled, it is important to keep it just to one parent and your Reconciliation child.
Please see the attached flyer for the first steps in the Parish Renewal process this coming weekend. All families who are parishioners are invited to participate.
