Student Services: Careers

Three weeks until our Careers Expo!
It’s hard to believe that we are into the second half of Term One already!! We are very busy putting together our final speakers and exhibitors for Careers Day on March 24th – we hope that our Year 10-12 students will benefit for the opportunities on the day to explore some future options.
CAREERS EXPO MONDAY MARCH 24TH
We are well on the way to confirming all our exhibitors for our Careers Expo. Thanks to families who have already assisted through their networks – we really rely on our wider community to make the day a success.
We are seeking a couple more Industry groups or large businesses to exhibit for the full day at the main expo (9am til 2.30pm). We are also seeking a couple of speakers with an interesting career story (in the industries of law or trades) for our career talks (8.45 – 11.15am)
Please contact Karen.Burgess@nhs.vic.edu.au if you would like to put your hand up for this year or register to assist in future years!!
YEAR 12 STUDENTS WANTING TO STUDY MEDICINE/DENTISTRY – take note!
If you are applying for Medical/Dentistry courses in 2026 you may need to complete the Universal Clinical Aptitude Test (UCAT). This is only held once a year - so don't miss it!! Registrations open Tuesday 4th March. https://www.ucat.edu.au/
YEAR 10 WORK EXPERIENCE 2025
It’s great to see applications for Work Experience are starting to roll in from our Year 10 cohort. Some key reminders:
- All instructions and documentation is available on TEAMS > Careers Channel
- Students must carefully check the unavailable dates document to ensure that they set up a placement in an approved week.
- Cover sheet must be ticked off and signed off by Connect Tutor before bringing the package of completed documentation to Careers office
- Submission timing is not negotiable – applications must be received at least 2 full weeks (16 days) prior to commencement of placement.
With over 300 students applying, it’s important to follow processes and adhere to due dates.
