General School Information 

Message from COGB

Parking Services from the City of Greater Bendigo have contacted our school to request that we share the following important information with our school community.

 

The illegal parking of vehicles near our school poses a significant safety risk to children, pedestrians, and other road users. Parents are reminded to follow all parking restrictions when dropping off and collecting children to help ensure a safe environment for everyone.

 

Motorists must:

  • Not stop in "No Stopping" areas, even briefly, regardless of whether the engine is running.
  • Not park next to a continuous yellow edge line, on nature strips, over driveways, too close to school crossings, or double park.
  • Observe time-restricted parking zones, such as the 2-minute pick-up/drop-off areas, which are in place to maintain traffic flow and safety near schools. Please do not park here and leave the car.
  • Not perform U-turns over an unbroken or continuous dividing line.

Regarding children’s crossings, the law requires drivers to approach at a speed that allows them to stop safely if needed. Please slow down and take extra care when driving in school zones.

 

City of Greater Bendigo Parking Officers and Bendigo Police conduct random patrols throughout the school year at various locations to ensure compliance with Road Safety Road Rules.

School Arrival and Departure 

Children should not arrive at school before 8:30 am or remain on the premises after 3:40 pm, as there is no supervision during these times. 

If you anticipate being late to collect your child, please inform the school office promptly.

Parking Guidelines

  • Staff and Parishioner Parking: Onsite parking is reserved for staff and parishioners.
  • Parent Parking: It is essential to comply with all parking restrictions when dropping off or picking up children. Please drive carefully and adhere to the 40 km/h speed limit in school zones.
    • A School Crossing is located on Lowndes Street for safe pedestrian access.
    • Drop-off/Pick-up Areas: These are designated for quick drop-offs and pickups only. Parents must not stop for other activities (e.g., chatting).
    • Drive-Through Zones: drop-offs are via the McMillan Street staff carpark, and pickups occur at the hall.
    • Time-Restricted Parking: A time-limited pick-up/drop-off bay is available on Lowndes Street. Please adhere to the displayed time limit.

Student Late Arrivals and Early Collections

Late Arrivals: Students arriving after 9:00 am must report to the office to be signed in, as class rolls have already been marked.

Early Collections: Parents collecting children before 3:20 pm must sign them out at the office before leaving the school grounds.

Uniform

 · Limited pre-loved uniform is available from the office for a donation of your choice

Canteen

The Parents and Friends Association runs the canteen service, following a healthy food plan. Our onsite canteen operates every Friday for lunch and over-the-counter sales and Thursday for recess snacks.

Orders must be placed by Thursday at 11:00 AM through the office, or online by 3:00 PM.

To cancel a lunch order, please contact Mary by 9:30 AM on Friday.

The Friendly Brew

Join us on Fridays for your *FREE caffeine fix, located outside the Rocketship stairway. 

Come and say hello to our friendly coffee crew, made up of wonderful volunteer parents. 

*Donations accepted - proceeds to our School Welfare Team

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: If you would like to be added to our roster of volunteers, please come along Friday and see one of the beautiful baristas or contact the school office.

It’s a fantastic way to get to know families and it’s easy peasy…

A shift goes from 8.30am-10ish.

One shift a term would be an amazing commitment to our school community
