Learning and Teaching

Magnify in Action
We have been so proud of how our staff and students have settled into new routines and ways of learning over the past few weeks. Here is a sneak peek into what's been happening in the 1JMC and 5MCO classrooms.
Term 1 Learning Conversations
Term 1 Learning Conversations will be held on Tuesday 11th March. Bookings are now open for our Term 1 Learning Conversations and can be made using your PAM Account.
Parent-Student-Teacher Learning Conversations allow for the co-creation and monitoring of student learning goals. All families are strongly encouraged to make a booking. Bookings will be face-to-face in classrooms unless families indicate that they would like to hold their conversation online.
Tuesday 11th March is a Pupil Free Day to allow for teachers and families to meet for Learning Conversations.
Graduate Outcome Awards
Last week we celebrated students who displayed the Graduate Outcome of RESPECT. These students received a Graduate Outcome Award.
Students who graduate from St Therese’s Primary School are people of RESPECT, who show respect for life, self, others, the wider community and the environment.
For the next few weeks, staff will continue to be on the lookout for students who display the Graduate Outcome of FAITH.
2025 NAPLAN
The National Assessment Program - Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) is an annual assessment for all students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9. It tests the types of skills that are essential for every child to progress through school and life. The tests cover skills in reading, writing, spelling, grammar and punctuation, and numeracy. The assessments are undertaken every year in March. NAPLAN is run at the direction of the Education Council. Please see below for the assessment schedule and additional parent information.
NAPLAN Assessment will take place in 2025 from 12-24 March. Information has been sent to families, and if you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact your classroom teacher, Gabby Walsh, Kim Carter, or Petra Teggelove.

Swimming Recap
At last week's assembly, we announced our Best Contributor, House Spirit and overall House Champions from our Grade 3-6 Swimming Carnival held on 6th February. That same day we experienced even more success in the pool with 30 students representing St Therese's at the Bendigo Catholic Schools Swimming Carnival. We continue to wish these swimmers the best as 26 swimmers will compete at the SSV Division Swimming Championships this Friday. Congratulations and best of luck to everyone involved.
