SCS Portrait Prize 2025

The SCS Portrait Prize provides a professional platform to celebrate exemplary Visual Arts students whilst serving as a benchmark of excellence for younger emerging talent K-12. 

The theme is a portrait of a person who is unique to the entrant, who is known to the entrant and who plays a significant role in their life.

Three students from Stage 3 2024 produced artworks for submission (Lara K, Holly C and Danny N). Their portraits were some of 403 artworks entered for the prize. The panel was impressed by the outstanding talent of all the young artists.

Congratulations to Danny N (Stage 3 Gold) who was announced as the WINNER of the 9-12 years category and was also selected for the Education and Research Director's Choice Award. His portrait will now be entered into the Young Archie Portrait Competition at the Art Gallery of NSW.

Danny's artwork of his friend Ethan, along with all portrait prize entrants and winners, is on display in a virtual gallery. The link to which can be accessed here. 

It will also be on display at the McGlade Gallery at ACU Strathfield from 4th April to 2nd May. This exhibition is open to the public on weekdays with no bookings required.
