This year we have certainly been blessed to be together as a community learning, sharing wonderful memories and building strong friendships. It has been wonderful to witness the growth of all students across St Margaret Mary’s throughout the year, not only in the classroom but also on the playground.
I would particularly like to thank the professional, energetic St Margaret Mary’s staff. Their commitment to your children and their learning, continues to make St Margaret Mary’s a successful and supportive school community. I would also like to thank our parent community for the amazing support and encouragement that we have received from you during the year - working in true partnership strengthens the way in which we can nurture your child’s educational, spiritual and wellbeing needs.
I would like to congratulate our wonderful St Margaret Mary’s students who have continued to let their light shine throughout the year. They have been dedicated, resilient learners, willingly to attempt tasks, apply feedback and strive to meet their goals. This year has had a few challenging moments, however, we have continued to learn, grow and make wonderful memories that we will always cherish.
Congratulations to the Year 6 students.
Semester 2 Reports are currently being finalised. These reports will be sent home in next week via Compass. This report is designed to provide information about your child’s learning and their goals for future success. It is extremely important to celebrate your child’s achievements in all areas as well as acknowledge and begin to work on their next steps within their learning.
Parents will be able to access their child’s report via Compass on their phone, iPad or computer. If your child is leaving St Margaret Mary’s at the end of the school year, we also advise you to download and save your child’s report for future reference.
If you are having difficulty accessing your child’s report please email the school office. We congratulate all students on their hard work this semester and thank our wonderful teachers and parents/caregivers for the support and guidance you provide each and every day.
In 2025, students in Year 3 and 5 will complete the NAPLAN assessment from the 12-24 March. During this period students in Year 3 and 5 will complete the English and Mathematics tests during term one.
Our NAPLAN Assessments are online, which requires our current students in Year 2 and Year 4 to have a level of ICT skills in order to navigate and answer questions. Teachers in these grades are designing activities to help students build these skills.
Over the Christmas break parents are able to help support their child develop these skills using the NAPLAN Public Demonstration site. This is a great way to gain confidence using the online environment. https://www.nap.edu.au/naplan/public-demonstration-site
More information for parents regarding NAPLAN can be found at: https://www.nap.edu.au
I would like to take the opportunity to wish all the St Margaret Mary’s families a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. May God’s blessing be with you all during this festive season.
God Bless
Rochelle Borg
