Better together
A Cecil First
As a proud Deputy Principal, I am thrilled to share the incredible success of our first-ever whole school assembly, which took place on Tuesday, 10 December 2024. This milestone has been a long time in the making, and we were excited to come together to celebrate the vibrant Cecil spirit that makes our school so unique. It was an uplifting occasion where we not only showcased our sense of community but also recognised and rewarded outstanding student achievements in four diverse disciplines.
Students were honoured for their accomplishments in the Australian Mathematics Competition, the Democracy Writing Challenge, Write A Book In A Day, the Schools Spectacular, and the Premier's Reading Challenge. Each recognition was a testament to the hard work, passion, and perseverance our students put into their pursuits.
Looking ahead, I am happy to announce that in 2025, our whole school assemblies will become a weekly tradition on Tuesdays. These gatherings will offer all students the opportunity to experience the power of community, celebrate successes, and unite as one school. A huge thank you to our dedicated Leadership Team for their unwavering support in bringing this exciting new initiative to life.
An Unforgettable Day at Jamberoo Recreation Park
I would like to express my gratitude to our amazing Year 8 Advisers, Miss Shannon and Miss Kumar, as well as our wonderful Connect teachers and School Learning Support Officers (SLSOs), for making our recent trip to Jamberoo Recreation Park an unforgettable experience for all.
The day was filled with laughter, excitement, and countless memories as students and staff enjoyed a wide array of fun rides, from water slides to the wave pool. It was great to see everyone embracing the adventure and making the most of the fantastic weather.
Our Year Advisers, Miss Shannon and Miss Kumar, played a pivotal role in organising this trip, ensuring everything ran smoothly and that our students were safe and well-supported throughout the day. Their attention to detail and care for each student was evident in every part of the trip.
Thank you again to everyone involved in making this trip to Jamberoo Recreation Park such a fantastic success. It was my highlight!
Year 8 Food Lovers Project Showcase
I was fortunate to have the wonderful opportunity to view the year 8 Food Lovers amazing project showcases. These projects included a written project, PowerPoints, digital cookbooks and/or videos of restaurant designs created on Minecraft and a practical food item. I was also lucky to taste delicious samples of their work. Special thanks to our Food Lovers teacher Miss Howse! A fantastic effort from a very dedicated group of students.
White Ribbon Day 2024: "It Starts with MEn”
Thank you to Miss Tiary, Mr Evans and Mr Ford for supporting White Ribbon Day. White Ribbon Day is also known as the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and is dedicated to raising awareness about and taking action to prevent violence against women and girls. Our School united with 18 of our Cowpasture schools by walking together to Terone Park. Thank you to both our SRC and House Leadership team for advocating for such an important cause.
#BetterTogether towards a safe and respectful future.
Year 8 Festive Spirit!
Well, done to our very merry year 8 students that enjoyed getting into the festive season with their wonderful Year Advisers Miss Shannon and Miss Kumar. Our Christmas Tree makes a wonderful addition to our school foyer. Cecil says thank you and Merry X-mas to all!
