Cecil Cadets - St John Ambulance NSW Youth

Students wishing to gain first aid qualifications and know how to save a life are invited to join Cecil Cadets - our school’s St John Ambulance youth group. It is available to any student aged 11 to 18 years.

Students learn lifesaving skills and develop leadership qualities towards careers such as a firefighter, paramedic, nurse or doctor and many more. Students will learn CPR and skills to treat fractures, epilepsy or stroke. They will learn to bandage limbs and how to safely deal with emergency situations. 

Meetings will occur once a week, after school for an hour. The proposed day is yet to be finalised but will likely be on a Wednesday or Friday. Refreshments will be supplied at each meeting.

Members of Cecil Cadets will receive a first aid kit after passing their certificate and attend events in their St John uniform to practise their skills and knowledge. Examples of events our cadets can attend include concerts, sports, cultural gatherings and major celebrations.
