Principal's Report

Tim Furphy, Principal

Well here we are, second last day of the school year for 2024. I'd like to firstly say thanks to the NPS community for their support throughout the year for our school. Whilst it's been a busy one, it's one that I look back on proudly. Our little school is going places, I'm really excited for what's in store.

Thankyou to the School Council for their contribution through the year. With their efforts we've been able to raise some really useful funds to support teaching and learning in our school, as well as the new cubby which will be delivered in January.

Thanks to the dedicated team of staff at NPS. We're really lucky to have such caring, supportive and amazing people guiding our students each day. Thankyou everyone!

Whilst we wish Bridget farewell and good luck as she returns to her previous school, we welcome Imogen Pemberton who visited this morning and spent some time with the 2025 5/6s.

In 2025 we will be altering our student leadership structure. Grade 6's will have many leadership roles to fill across the year, and these have been discussed with them. For students in Grades 1-6, there is an apportunity to be part of our schools "leadership team". We will be sending out applications early in 2025 for those interested and 2-3 students across each class will be selected to be part of the student leadership team. This group will be our "go to" student voice team for intiatives, dress up days and leadership opportunities (representing our school). We are exctied to see this come to fruition!

For those that don't know, my wife Alex and I will be having a little girl join our family in mid February (or earlier, or later?!!??!?) During this time I'll be leaving the school in the most capable of hands. Jacqueline Lee will be your point of call, and I know the incredible team at NPS will support her.

I wish you all a very Merry Chrsitmas, a happy and safe holidays and we'll be back to do it all again in 2025!

Tim
