Fostering Student Wellbeing
I would like to welcome you to another exciting year at Huntingtower. We are deeply committed to fostering both the wellbeing and learning growth of every student. Together with you, we aim to create an environment where each child feels supported, valued, and encouraged to thrive.
Our wellbeing and learning support framework is designed to ensure that every student has the care and guidance they need to succeed. To strengthen this partnership, here are some ways you can support your child at home:
- Encourage open conversations about their day and any challenges they may face.
- Establish routines that support healthy habits, such as regular sleep, balanced meals, and study schedules.
- Model and encourage resilience, mindfulness, and positive problem-solving.
For direct support, your child’s mentor teacher is the first point of contact. They are here to guide and support your child’s wellbeing and academic journey. Additionally, the Year Level Coordinators (YLCs) and I are always available to offer advice and support. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have concerns or questions.
We are also fortunate to have our Counselling Team and Learning Enrichment Team available to provide expert guidance and additional support tailored to your child’s needs.
To further support your family, we encourage you to explore SchoolTV, an invaluable resource that provides evidence-based information on a range of topics related to parenting, mental health, and student wellbeing. From managing stress and building resilience to navigating social media and understanding adolescent development, SchoolTV offers practical strategies and tools for families.
We are excited to work with you to support your child’s growth and success this year. If you have any questions or would like to connect with your child’s mentor, YLC, or me, please feel free to reach out via email or contact the school office.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Together, we can ensure a positive and rewarding experience for all our students.
