Student Leadership 2025

2025 Student Leadership Wrap-Up

As the year comes to a close, we celebrate the achievements of our 2025 Student Leadership Team. Their enthusiasm, teamwork and commitment have made a significant impact on our school community, contributing positively to school culture, engagement and connectedness.

Our student leaders were instrumental in organising a wide range of events that brought the school together:

  • Maffra’s Got Talent returned with outstanding performances that showcased the creativity and confidence of our students.
  • The Junior House Captains organised two crowd-favourites: Dodgeball and Zorb Ball competitions, which were enjoyed by students across all year levels.
  • Our Push-Up Challenge Ambassadors and Live4Life Crew Members continued their important work promoting mental health awareness and wellbeing across the school.

The leadership team also played a key role in raising funds for important causes, as well as for school improvement projects. These events not only raised money but also strengthened our sense of community.

  • The World’s Greatest Shave raised an impressive $4,436, with an additional $380.50 from a casual dress day, all donated to the Leukaemia Foundation.
  • Carnival Day was a major success, with activities, stalls and student-led initiatives generating $1,771 profit.
  • Casual dress days across the year raised further funds:
  • Term 1 (Harmony Week): $290.80
  • Term 2 (PJ Day): $394.95
  • Term 3 (Book Week Casual Dress): $404.50
  • Term 4 (Spooky Casual Dress): $402

A portion of these funds will support upgrades to the upper quadrangle, helping create a more engaging, welcoming and functional space for students to enjoy.

One of the most significant achievements of 2025 was the redevelopment of our HELPAR Model, a key framework for supporting students to become independent, confident and active learners.

Student leaders collaborated with staff and their peers to refine the model, ensuring each phase clearly outlines the behaviours, attitudes and responsibilities needed for learning success. The updated HELPAR Model is now displayed in every classroom and is becoming a consistent part of teaching and learning at Maffra SC.

In Term 4, student leaders also delivered year-level assemblies to explain the model and help students understand how each stage supports their learning journey.

The achievements of this year’s student leaders reflect their dedication, teamwork and passion for improving our school community. From organising major events to promoting wellbeing, raising funds and strengthening our learning culture, they have left a meaningful legacy.

We thank all of our 2025 student leaders for their outstanding contributions and congratulate them on a highly successful year.
