PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Principal - Mrs Claire Ryan
Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome to Week 7's Newsletter,
This year is quickly passing by! I can't believe we are already into Week 7, Term 4. The classrooms are still full of energy and learning opportunities.
BABY NEWS

As our families are aware, Mrs Tara Darley is pregnant. She will be taking maternity leave in 2026. We are currently recruiting for a new teacher and will keep families informed as updates arise. In the meantime, we wish to express our sincere congratulations to Mr and Mrs Darley as they prepare to welcome a new baby into their family.
YEAR 3-6 CANBERRA EXCURSION
The excitement is certainly building, along with a few expected nerves, for our upcoming excursion to Canberra next week. The students will bring home a hard copy of a booklet outlining 'What to expect on our Excursion to Canberra', and parents will also receive it in digital form via Compass. Please take some time to go through this with your child before Monday to help ease the nerves.
We had a wonderful time in Tamworth last week, meeting the staff and students from St Joseph's, Barraba, who will be joining us on the Canberra Excursion. There were lots of smiles and laughs, and even some new friendships were made. I have included photos in the 'What to expect on our Excursion to Canberra' booklet so that you can share in some of the memories.

Mrs Herden and I will meet the students at St Xavier's School, Gunnedah, ready to depart on the bus at 7:30am. Please arrive before this time if you need to hand over medication to the teachers.

Photo updates will be shared daily on our Sacred Heart School Facebook page whilst we are in Canberra, so families can stay updated on the fun times we are having. At the end of the Excursion, we will share a digital folder with parents that will contain all the photos from Canberra so that the children will have them as keepsakes and to support with their sharing of experiences.
If you have any further questions about the Excursion, please don't hesitate to reach out.
BOGGABRI CAROLS IN THE PARK

We have again been asked to participate in this year's Carols in the Park on Friday, December 5. Our students will combine with the students from Boggabri Public School to sing a number of Christmas Carols. We have been practising these carols in preparation for this event. Nick and Caroline Stone have visited our school to practice with our students in the lead-up to the performance.
This community event will begin at 5:30pm with a BBQ followed by our students singing Carols at 7pm. We hope to see as many Sacred Heart students as possible attending this community event at Vickery Park. Please come dressed in your festive outfits, ready to embrace the joy of Christmas.
FAMILY FUN NIGHT

After a great success last year, the Sacred Heart PTF will again host our Tennis and Pizza Night on Sunday, December 7, at 5:30pm, atVickery Park. This is an opportunity to express our thanks to our school community for their ongoing support throughout the year.
Please RSVP to the school by Wednesday, December 3.
C'mon! Dust off your tennis racquets and be prepared for a night of fun and laughter! We will have racquets and tennis balls available on the night if you do not have your own.
PRESENTATION DAY

Our Annual Presentation Day is set to take place on Monday, December 8th at 9:30am. We wish to invite all families and friends to join us in celebrating a year filled with learning milestones, sporting achievements, and fun times.
Our 2026 School Leaders will also be announced during the formalities.
The venue for our Presentation Day will be the Boggabri RSL Club. If you can bring a small plate of food to share at the end of the formalities, that would be greatly appreciated. We look forward to celebrating with each of you.
END OF YEAR WHOLE SCHOOL MASS

All families and Sacred Heart Parishioners are invited to attend our End of Year School Mass on Thursday, December 11, at 9:30am. The Mass will be held in the Sacred Heart Church. This is an opportunity to celebrate as a school and Parish community with gratitude for what has been a wonderful year.
YEAR 6 FAREWELL

On Monday, December 15th, we will host our Year 6 Farewell, an opportunity to celebrate with our Year 6 students and their families the end of a Primary School era. It is not just a farewell but a celebration of the wonderful memories, lessons, and friendships our students have forged along the way. Please keep an eye out for the formal invitations, which will include all the details about the night.
A special thank you to our staff, who have worked behind the scenes to create a night for our Year 6 students to remember forever.
Wishing everyone a productive and rewarding Week 7!
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Warm regards,
Mrs Claire Ryan
