Visual Arts

In Term 3 Heath and Acacia’s Visual Arts program focused on weather and the seasons.
The students began the term making a large collaborative mural depicting the changing seasons on a tree. The mural was proudly displayed in the corridor and has been much admired. Each class contributed by painting the background and branches or by making the individual items that reflect the changing seasons. Together they created a fabulous, colourful display.
As the term went by students made a variety of individual artworks depicting scenes characteristic of individual seasons eg snowmen, blooming flowers, ice cream and popsicles and autumn tree landscapes. The students worked on their collage and mixed media skills which included making choices about materials and placement of their chosen media. Here are some examples of their fantastic work.

In Term 4, the students used toys and games as their artistic inspiration. The students were exposed to foreground and background with their autumn tree artworks; they were introduced to positive and negative space when creating their robot toy artworks and they continued making different medium choices for both their 2D and 3D art. The students also had fun creating decorations for Halloween and Christmas.
Congratulations to all the students for their fabulous efforts in Visual arts this year!
