Year 10, 11 & 12

Assistant Principal's Report

As we approach the end of the school year, it’s a wonderful time to reflect on and celebrate everything our students have achieved. Whether they are completing Year 10, progressing through to Year 11, or finishing their Year 12 journey, our students have demonstrated resilience, determination and tremendous growth.

To our Year 12 Class of 2025, congratulations on completing 13 years of schooling, a remarkable milestone.

As you step into life beyond secondary school, take pride in all you have accomplished and embrace the opportunities ahead. This ending marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter. We are incredibly proud of the young adults you have become and look forward to hearing about your future successes as Wyndham Central College alumni.

To our Year 10 and 11 students, well done on another year of hard work and personal development. I encourage you to use the holiday break to recharge, reflect on your progress and return next year ready to take on new challenges. The foundations you have built this year will support even greater achievements in the future.

As the holidays begin, I encourage all students to:

  • Celebrate your efforts- acknowledge your achievements and growth.
  • Recharge and relax- enjoy time with family, pursue your interests and look after your wellbeing.
  • Look ahead- set goals for the year ahead and return with a positive, focused mindset.

To our parents and carers, your partnership is vital. Please continue to engage in conversations with your child about their learning, interests and aspirations. Your support, encouragement and celebration of their milestones, big or small, make a significant difference.

Please ensure that all holiday homework is completed, work is revised and that all students have all their necessary books, equipment and uniform in place for the beginning of next year.

It is vital that all students commence on their very first day of school in 2026.

Year 7 and Year 12 students commence school on Wednesday 28th January.

Year 8, 9, 10 and 11 students commence school on Thursday 29th January.

Thank you to the Year 12 students who completed the selection process for the role of School Captain/Vice Captain for next year.  The process involved a written application, a speech on an assembly and an interview with the school leadership team, not an easy task for anyone!

I would like to congratulate the following students for being elected to the positions for 2026.

School Captains                                                           School Vice Captains

Raquel Grey                                                                    Manning Bricknell

Pam Vichittavong                                                       Alex Ochi

                                                                                         Tobias Hoy

Year 12 results will be released by the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA) on Thursday 11th December and students are welcome to attend the College if they need any assistance with their future pathways and we will support them with their endeavors.

I hope all Year 12 students achieved their personal best in their studies and final examinations.

To the Class of 2025, I extend my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes as you embark on the next chapter of your journey, whether it be further studies, employment or other pursuits. Remember, you will always be part of our College community and if we can ever assist you in the future, please do not hesitate to reach out.

As I retire from work at the end of this year, after 37 years at Wyndham Central College/formerly Galvin Park Secondary College, I extend my heartfelt thanks to the students, staff, families and the community. It has been a privilege to serve and contribute to the growth and success of our students and our school. I leave with many fond memories and the utmost respect for all who make this community so special.

It has been an honour to work alongside such dedicated and inspiring individuals, thank you.

I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a safe and relaxing New Year.

Year Level Leader's Report - Year 10

Congratulations to all students on completing their exams and successfully navigating the VCE Step-Up Program. These two weeks are an essential part of beginning Year 11, no matter which pathway students have chosen. Step-Up allows classes to begin key coursework early, and subjects are unable to re-teach this material at the start of next year. For that reason, it is crucial that all work is completed. If any lessons were missed, students will need to complete the associated work over the holidays.

If students have any questions about their Step-Up subjects or tasks, they are encouraged to contact their teachers directly.

It was also wonderful to see so many families and students attend the Step-Up interviews and meet their new Tutor Teachers. These conversations play an important role in setting clear expectations and ensuring a positive, confident start to 2026. Thank you to everyone who attended and engaged so thoughtfully.

To support students in planning for their future pathways, they also visited Deakin University, where students explored a range of study and career options. This was a valuable opportunity to begin thinking ahead, and there will be many more pathway discussions and experiences throughout next year.

To finish the year, students enjoyed a fantastic day out at O’Brien Icehouse. It was great to see students embracing new skills, supporting one another, and showing real resilience and perseverance. There were plenty of slips and falls on the ice, but plenty of laughs! ArtVo was also a highlight, with students creating some very imaginative photos that I’m sure have been widely shared. Judging by the noise and the laughter, it was a memorable end to the school year.

Thank you to all students and families for your hard work, support, and positivity throughout the year. I hope everyone has a safe, restful, and enjoyable holiday break, and we look forward to welcoming students into Year 11 refreshed and ready for a strong start.

Year Level Leader's Report - Year 11

As the year comes to a close, we would like to congratulate our Year 11 students on a successful year and on stepping up into Year 12. Throughout the year, students have shown growth in their independence, responsibility, and understanding of the expectations that come with senior schooling.

The recent Step Up into Year 12 provided students with a valuable insight into their final year of schooling. The way students approached this experience demonstrated a readiness to take on increased responsibility and a positive mindset heading into next year.

Students also represented the college well during their excursion to Victoria Universitywhere they were able to explore post-school pathways and gain a better understanding of opportunities beyond secondary school. This experience was an important step in helping students think ahead and plan for their futures.

We are proud of the way the Year 11 cohort has finished the year and look forward to supporting them as they begin Year 12. Congratulations to all students on reaching this important milestone.

Year Level Leader's Report - Year 12

Congratulations to the Class of 2025!

As we celebrate the end of the high school journey for our Year 12 students, we also recognise the beginning of an exciting new chapter in their lives.

I would like to extend my sincerest congratulations to all students who have completed their VCE and VM studies over the past two years. Despite the challenges they have encountered, they have shown remarkable dedication, resilience, and perseverance.

Earning a Year 12 certificate is a testament to years of hard work and commitment. I am incredibly proud of each and every one of our students, and I wish them all the very best as they take their next steps beyond secondary school.

To those who have received first-round pre offers — congratulations!

To those who have secured employment, TAFE, or university placements — well done!

And to those who are still exploring their options, I encourage you to follow your interests, trust your abilities, and pursue a path that brings fulfilment and purpose.
