OHR Tuckshop Investigation
By Emily N, Anne E, Mila B, Tom W & Ollie D
Our Holy Redeemer is a Catholic primary school with over 200 students and every Wednesday we are privileged to have a tuckshop run by the parents. As the media team we are always thinking about how to make our school better.
Kate has been the tuck shop coordinator for one year. She says the most positive thing about the tuck shop is that ‘it teaches kids to save money’ and to use their money wisely. Kate found that the piranha chips weren't selling so she stopped buying them. But the moussies and cheeto puffs are the most popular and are students’ favourite. As the tuckshop coordinator, Kate has found that one of the most important jobs is keeping the tuckshop well stocked so that popular items do not sell out so quickly. We, as a school, are very grateful for Kate and all the volunteers as the tuckshop would not run without them.
Next week the Media team is going to conduct a survey for the whole school to see what new foods we could add to the tuck shop.
The OHR students will be able to share their preferences for some new, healthy items that could be included in the tuckshop in 2026. The media team looks forward to sharing with you what new items the students select.
