Mr Irwin's Message

Hello families and welcome to the final newsletter for 2025!

Today is state-wide orientation day across Victoria which means we have the pleasure of welcoming our 2026 Foundation students for one final time this term, and the mixed emotions of having our year 6 students attend their secondary schools for next year.

Today at Teesdale students met their classroom teachers and classmates for next year. Next year we will have 12 classes. So... let’s meet the team!

Leadership

As I shared at Friday’s assembly, Ms Barnett will be heading to Bacchus Marsh Primary School next year as an Assistant Principal. She has done an exceptional job leading our curriculum across the past few years. It’s consistent, it challenges students and is expertly implemented by our teachers because of her leadership in this area. Replacing Ms Barnett in this leadership role will be Miss Armstrong. Many of you will know Miss Armstrong already as one of our classroom teachers. She has also done a lot of leadership work in the school already and is ready to step up as Learning Specialist.

Mr Lindsay will continue in his role as Wellbeing leader and will be supported by Miss Whyte is a new role available to Teesdale Primary next year; a Mental Health and Wellbeing Leader. Miss Whyte will do an exceptional job in this role too.

Classroom Structure

Our two Foundation classes will be taken by Mrs Kelley, with Mrs Moloney stepping in on Fridays and Miss Weingott. We welcome Miss Weingott to Teesdale next year arriving from Armstrong Creek School.

Our 3 Junior School classes will be taken by Miss Walker, Mrs Wells and Mr Maskell.

There will be 4 Middle School classes next year. The first will be shared by Mrs Grant and Mrs Teague. We are delighted to Mrs Grant continuing with us after arriving in Term 4. Both she and Mrs Teague will do an outstanding job supporting their middle school class together. The other Middle School classes will be taken by Miss Musselwhite, Mrs Knight and Mrs Mckenzie, who we welcome from Point Cook P-9 College.

Our 3 Senior Classes will be taken by Mrs Fletcher, along with two shared arrangements. Firstly, Mrs Cramer and Miss Whyte will share together, and secondly Mr King and Miss Kearney will also share a class. It will be wonderful to have Miss Kearney back with us after having some time off at home with her family.

Our Specialist program will again be taken by Mrs Moloney, Mrs Biscan, Mr Arnold and Mrs Brown in the garden. For different year levels there will be some teacher variation but also students will engage in the same specialist subjects across the school, being Science, Visual Art, PE and Kitchen Garden.

We are now in the last two weeks of the school year. Make sure you check our upcoming dates page to be around all the fun happening until the end of the year!

I wanted to also take the opportunity to thank our families for the support they’ve given us once again in 2025. We enjoy working in partnership with you to provide the best education for all of our students. On behalf of our staff we hope you have a wonderful Christmas and manage some rest over the holiday period.

I want to thank all of our staff for the enormous effort they have once again put in for this school year. The lengths they go to supporting students and the learning they provide goes unmatched in my eyes and we should be thankful for each and every one of them. Make sure you show them some love in the lead up to the end of the year.

Finally to our students, who should all be proud on their growth and achievement this year. I hope you rest up over the holidays, enjoy summer and we look forward to seeing you all back raring to go in 2026.

Enjoy the fun and festivities that December brings everybody, bye for now and have a great week.

Sam.
