What have we been Investigating in Discovery Time?

The Prep students have been working on refining their social skills. The students have been looking at making connections between our emotions and what our faces look like. We focused on the ‘Big 3’, eyes, eyebrows and mouths and discussed what they look like when we feel different emotions and what non-verbal cues they give us, to tell others how we are feeling. 

The students have been looking at how they can use social skills within real life situations. We have been investigating in the garden, looking at how to care for plants and insects. The students had to work together as a team, combining ideas to create a group plan, share equipment, take turns and show care and responsibility towards other living things.

The students have been so proud sharing how their sunflowers have been growing at home and within their classrooms!
