A Message from Keir and Emma

“We would like to acknowledge the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people, the first people to dream, create, wonder, dance, play and learn on this breathtaking land. This land was cared for and respected for tens of thousands of years. The First Nations people lived in companionship with the animals and the life on this land. We acknowledge that this is stolen land and we pay our respects to elders, past, present and emerging.”

Step Up Sessions

Today students participated in their second Step Up session. The theme for today’s session was Hello New Faces, with the intention being to build familiarity between children who will be in the same cohort in 2026. Students participated in various activities such as drawing portraits of a new friend, creating a collage based on personal interests and playing team building games. If talking to your child about the session, you might like to find out if they met someone new, or were reacquainted with an old friend.

2026 Foundation Transition

Our 2026 Foundation Transition program is also in full swing. Last Wednesday, our future Foundies were dropped off at the library by their parents and carers, and spent time participating in Guided Play, library time, reading and listening to stories. We had a wonderful group of Middle School students supporting our future Foundies. Having them there made saying goodbye to parents and carers a lot easier! Keir also ran an information session for the grown-ups, during which he introduced and unpacked our school values. We are looking forward to seeing our 2026 Foundation Students on Wednesday for their next transition session.

Photographing and Filming Students

We have noticed at recent whole school events, such as assemblies and the Story Telling Festival, an increase in the number of parents and carers photographing and filming students. We would like to remind everybody of our school’s policy and the importance of not filming and photographing any children other than your own. We understand the importance of capturing these important moments, so please ask that if you are wanting to film or photograph, you focus only on your own child and avoid capturing other students in the background. This helps us to maintain a safe environment for all of our students. Thanks for your understanding and support.

Creating 2026 Classes

If there are any families that still wish to provide information regarding their child’s class placement in 2026, today is the last day that the 2026 Class Formation Considerations survey will be open. You can access the survey here.

Please note that the survey is not about choosing teachers, rooms or friends for your child. If you are planning to share additional information that might help us place your child in 2026, please remember the complexity of finding the right class for all of our 400 students and share only essential information. Providing information about your child does not make any guarantees, and submissions referencing specific teachers will not be taken into account.
