Spotlight on Learning

We are excited to celebrate our final week of learning together as a Foundation community 🎉. This year has been filled with so many moments of learning, growth, and joy 📘💫. We are incredibly proud of every student and wish them all the very best as they continue their learning journey 🌟💖.

Next week: 

English: Next week, we are revising the Stage 6 sounds! Students will be practicing saying, reading, and writing words with the Stage 6 sounds. 

Mathematics: Next week for Mathematics, we will be exploring and practicing money. Students will take part in hands-on, practical activities to recognise coins and notes, count collections, and use money in real-world contexts, such as small role-play shop experiences.

Social Emotional Learning: Next week for SEL, we will be engaging in learning that supports our transition to Year 1 🌟. We will reflect on how we are feeling about this change 💭, discuss what to expect 👣, and learn helpful strategies to build confidence and independence 💛.

Religious Education: Next week, we will continue exploring the topic of Advent, identifying each candle and understanding their purpose 🕯️✨. Students will learn about the four stages of Advent — Hope, Peace, Joy and Love — and the significance of each candle as it is lit. We will discuss how the first candle reminds us to wait with hope 💛, the second invites us to seek peace 🕊️, the third (the pink candle) encourages us to celebrate joy 🌸, and the fourth helps us reflect on God’s unconditional love ❤️.

Auslan:  Next week, we will be revising all the Auslan signs we have previously learnt ✋🤟. Students will practise using these signs and apply them in real-life contexts, building their confidence and communication skills in meaningful ways.
