Wominjeka Everyone,

Talking Rights & Responsibilities at OSHC

Every year we refresh our OSHC “Rights & Responsibilities” after a quick roll‑call chat about what those words really mean.

  • Linking rights to care: We revisit the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, then explore how each right carries a responsibility to look after one another.
  • Deep dive with seniors: A recent senior‑group discussion on the right to identity went everywhere—from threats to identity rights abroad, to furries, to social vs. biological identities, and how to speak about them respectfully. The students’ insights were eye‑opening and energising!
  • Age‑tuned chats: Each roll call tailors the conversation to the group’s stage, ensuring everyone can engage and contribute.

You never know where these conversations will lead, but they always leave us all thinking—and caring—a little more.
