From the Principal

I would like to thank all of the community members who made comment of the video I posted in the newsletter last week and also on our Facebook page. It is a great snapshot of the amazing work done at STM over the past 4 years. If you have not watched it, I strongly encourage you too.
Just a reminder to families that we are closed tomorrow, Friday 13th of June. Staff are undertaking a Professional Learning Day.
What is Pentacost?
Please see here a nice video depiction of the Assension of Jesus and also the day we now known as Pentacost.
Thommies Market - St Thomas More Feast Day:
Next Friday our school will celebrate the Feast Day of St Thomas More in style!!! We will be holding our annual Thommies Market, this will run from 11:45am-12:45pm and is a student only event. Parents are welcome to join together with the students at 9:00am for our Feast Day Liturgy. Please refer to the Operoo and SchoolStream sent out on Tuesday for more detailed information.
School Disco:
The School Disco took place last Thursday and WOW!! what an amazing event. The students appeared to have a great time and there were some serious dance moves on show. A big thank you to Emily Atkinson and the PnF team for contributing the funds to help get the Disco off the ground. A major thank you to Vanessa Del Monaco and Meaghan Elkin for all the work that went into organising the ins and outs on the night. So much work and thought goes into the preparation. We cannot thank you enough. There were also parent helpers who stepped in to help the evening run smoothly, thank you to those wonderful people also.
Bunnings BBQ:
Earlier this week Tarnia sent out a Parent Helpers form on Operoo for our upcoming Bunnings BBQ on June 21st. Thank you to the families who have already filled it in, it is great to see lots of families willing to help for a couple of hours. Please note, volunteering at the Bunnings BBQ will count as a "Working Bee" and means the $100 maintenance levy will be taken off your school fees. The Parents and Friends are running this event and the money will be used to support the school. Most recently the Parents and Friends have purchased the school some new sand pit toys, they have also covered the cost of the new dishwasher that was installed in the Hall Kitchen to help OSHC and our school upgrade our kitchen licence. They are always thinking of new ways to improve our school.
St Joseph's and Mater Christi Taster Day:
On Friday 27th of June, the Year 4 students have been invited to a taster day at St Jospeh's and Mater Christi. There is more information about this day on Operoo for relevent families. The year 5 students who are in the 4/5 will be split (with friends) into the other classes for the morning and provided with work to carry on with. More information will be provided to families.
Additional Open Days:
We have last Open Day which is to take place on August 7th is fully booked and I still have families enquiring about our school. So due to popular demand, I have released a further two dates.
