Principals' Retreat

This year’s Principals’ Retreat offered a refreshing blend of insight, strategy, and good humour — a chance for our Principals to step back, reconnect, and refocus for the year ahead.

We kicked off with a warm welcome and encouraging words from our Australian CEO David Edwards, highlighting the strength of our trans-Tasman connection and the importance of continuing to lead with purpose in today’s evolving real estate landscape.

Throughout the retreat, rich conversations unfolded, from forward-thinking strategy discussions led by Ashley Church, to a standout session from Alan Lethbridge, who shared practical tools to help First National shine even brighter against the competition.

Duncan Garner's hilarious presentation Turning the Corner: A Kiwi Take on Resilience, reminded us of the power of perseverance. With 30 years in New Zealand media and numerous national broadcasting and print awards, Duncan brought both laughter and reflection to the room, sharing personal stories that resonated deeply with everyone.

The retreat also included our Annual General Meeting, where we were proud to welcome two new Board Members — James MacKay, FN Golden Bay, (Tākaka) and James Mullins FN Progressive, (Christchurch). They join Chairman Shawn Gibbon and Director Olivia Atkins, bringing fresh insight to the Board.

Lastly, office awards were proudly presented to the Principals in recognition of their teams’ outstanding achievements over the past year. The full list of award winners will remain under wraps until mid-June to give every office the opportunity to host their own celebrations, honouring the incredible efforts of their staff in their own unique way.

Announcing our new Board Members
