Dear Parents
Here we are half way through the term and there continues to be a huge amount of activity in our special school.
I was delighted last week during Super Hero Day to see the children enjoy the whole day. Each class had an activity which was related to teaching the children a little around the Mother of Peace Ursuline School in Cambodia. Every year, as part of our Catholic Social Justice program, we will raise money for an international school in need. This develops the students' world view and broadens their knowledge of those less fortunate in the world appropriate to their age and stage.
We were so thankful to the generosity of the families in raising over $600 for the school. We know that this sum will purchase many resources which will be invaluable for the children.
After much consultation with Sydney Catholic Schools it has been decided that St Francis Xavier will continue with two kindergarten classes of 32 students each for 2026. Today families will receive their offer letter. Please return your acceptance by next Thursday as this will assist with the planning and preparation for our School Readiness Program.
There has been a lot of illness in the school over the last few weeks as the cold winter weather continues to bite. If your child is unwell please keep them home from school until they are better. Please be reminded that my staff are human too and also become unwell. Many are also parents who need to look after their own children from time to time, moreover some staff have elderly parents to support.
Enjoy the long weekend, rest up and we will see you on Tuesday.
Name Pavers fundraiser. Please see link attached for this exciting opportunity to become a permanent part of St Francis Xavier landscape.
