District Soccer
Congratulations to the group of students who proudly represented our school last week at District Soccer. The team fought hard, worked together and scored several great goals across the matches. Thank you to the helpers on the day and good luck to our footballers who head off Wednesday for their games.

Inquiry Projects
Just a reminder that students will be working in pairs to construct a diorama which highlights their understanding of an historical event. We are asking for students and families to begin collecting, and bringing in materials that can be used for these dioramas. As always, there is no expectation to purchase anything and we are hoping to take a sustainable approach to gathering our materials. Examples of materials that would be helpful are listed below.
E.g. cardboard rolls, fabric offcuts, crepe paper, paper cups, glitter, pebbles, sand, shoeboxes, cellophane, cardboard offcuts, dried leaves or plant cuttings etc
Middle Years Team
Lots of excitement this week in the Middle Years Team when we were privileged to have a visit by the Western Bulldogs! Students asked some really interesting questions and were fascinated to hear how many goals have been kicked, how many games played, who is the best, and which teams are their biggest rivals or favourites.
Now that our swimming program has finished, Middle Years Team are cracking on with our MAPPEN topic 'The Game of Life'. In the last few weeks of term, we are aiming to complete the activities on four topics: Role Models, Favourite Sport or Hobbies, Principle that you follow, Custom that is important to you. Each of these topics requires students to make a question card for their Game of Life. Once we have completed all four topics and made four cards (one for each topic), we will begin playing the game. Each time that students play, they will have different teammates and get to learn about each other through asking and answering the questions. Here is the assessment rubric which students will be assessed against. A three 🖤🖤🖤 score is what to aim for!
Junior Team
Peas, Please!
Our curious and clever Grade 1/2 students rolled up their sleeves this week and got their hands dirty—planting sugar snap peas into homemade hot boxes! With big smiles and little green thumbs, they carefully tucked each seed into its cozy bed. Now, it’s a waiting game as we watch these pea babies sprout and stretch toward the sun. Once they’re big and strong, we’ll move them into our garden where they can really shine. Pea-watch is officially on!
Rainy Day Addition!
Our clever Prep students have been busy creating Addition Rain Clouds—a fun and colourful way to explore early maths! Each cloud had raindrops falling from it, and students had to count and add the raindrops from both clouds. A bright rainbow connected the two clouds, showing the total. Their imaginative and eye-catching creations look amazing!
Specialist Team
Physical Education
It has been a busy few weeks with Gr 5/6 District Sport. We have had teams represent our school in soccer, AFL and netball. Well done to all of our students who competed, staff for coaching and families for supporting and umpiring.
Lastly, we had a very successful Gr3-6 Athletic Sports Day on Tuesday 20th May at Llanberris Reserve. Well done to all of our students who gave it their best. Thanks to all the staff and families who assisted on the day. Congratulations to Echidna House who won a close contest, well done! I hope to finalise our District Athletics Team before the end of term. District Athletics will be held at Llanberris Reserve on Tuesday 29th August.
