Hello from Acacia!

Last week, we explored cooking as a group by making pasta sauce together. The children's ongoing interest in dinosaurs inspired us to thread dinosaur-shaped pasta, which led into our idea to make dinosaur pasta with sauce. Sharon brought her slow cooker into kinder, and we started by chopping up onion, garlic, and parsley. With four cans of diced tomatoes ready, the children helped stir the sauce as we added salt, black and white pepper, and fresh parsley picked Amanda’s parents' garden. Some children chose to taste the parsley and shared that they enjoyed the flavour. Throughout the morning, we kept returning to the slow cooker to check on our sauce. The children were keen to watch it progress and enjoyed taking turns to give it a stir. 

At lunchtime, everyone was excited to try the saucy dinosaur pasta. YUM!
