Mission Month

October is Mission Month and as a Catholic community, we use this month to learn more about how we can work to serve others through supporting the work of Catholic Mission. Catholic Mission is the Pope’s international Mission agency in Australia. It is an international organisation that partners with communities, helping them to flourish by supporting grassroots projects, including healthcare, education, and spiritual care.

The network of religious and lay missionaries operates in Africa, Asia, Europe, Oceania, the Americas. Catholic Mission’s work supports children, communities, and future Church leaders across education, healthcare, and spiritual care.

“As the Pope’s international mission agency, we respond to the call to love God and to love our neighbour by forming individuals and communities as missionary disciples of Jesus who share their faith in action and through prayer. We share in God’s mission to reach out, give life by sharing our personal and financial resources to: - proclaim the Gospel, - serve people in need, - act for peace, justice and creation; In partnership with local churches, so that all may have life in Christ.” (Catholic Mission)

Mission Day

Our Mission Day will be held on the 20th of October. This is a really inspiring day as we watch our students in Grades 3-6 plan, organise and run their own stalls to raise money for Catholic Mission. Please send your children to school with a range of coins as most activities vary in price from 50 cents to a dollar.

Prayer Gathering

This week Grade 5RD/PP will be leading us in prayer on the Holy Rosary.

Next Friday (13th October) Maegen and the Year 6s will lead us in prayer.
