From the Leadership Team

As you know, last week was College Photo Day and I wanted to say thank you for the support you gave in sending your child or children looking their very best. We all scrubbed up pretty well! I must admit, I quite enjoyed putting the final touches on students prior to their portraits; jiggling ties up to hide top buttons, insisting on a shave and rolling unwieldy collars down, and the response from the students was sincere and kind.

The subtle messages we give to our kids, like dress standards, may impact their thinking about other aspects of their lives. As you know teenagers make strong connections. Spoken or unspoken messages like, “Wearing the uniform correctly matters" can lead to them thinking, “Standards matter” and, of course, standards do matter. The conversations you clearly had with your child leading up to the day were evident and I encourage you to keep having them. While a school photo is a lovely keepsake often adorning our mantles, it is just one day of the year and the message may be lost if we only make a special effort one day each year or when we think there is something in it for ourselves.

In Week 3 next term we will be holding an additional morning of photos where we capture the remaining sporting teams and specialist groups plus capture any catch-up photos for students who were absent last week.

1 Corinthians 1:10
I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought.
