Principal's Message

Mrs Kaileen Carr

Welcome back! It is lovely to see all the students smiling faces.

Term 4 is looking really busy. We will make every effort to keep the Sentral Parent Portal calendar and the newsletter calendar up to date. Please ensure you look at the calendar regularly so you do not miss anything that is happening at Eglinton.

RATs (Reading Across the School ) - As part of our transition program student from K-5 are participating in a buddy reading program. This takes place each Thursday after lunch.

  • Kinder read with Year 1 in the Stage 1 classrooms
  • Year 2 read with Year 3 in the Stage 2 classrooms
  • Year 4 read with Year 5 in the Stage 3 classrooms

Staff - Mrs Sigourney Conroy will be taking leave from 31 October until the end of term. Miss Renee Van Dyk will be joining the Eglinton teaching team and will be relieving for Mrs Conroy.

We would like to congratulate Miss Elly Stepto on the safe arrival of Margot. Elly and Margot are doing well and we can't wait to meet her.

School hats - the weather is warming up. Please ensure your child has a wide brimmed school hat. All students will be required to wear a hat at play time and during sport. If students do not have a hat they will be required to play under the COLA or go to the library. School hats are available at the office to purchase for $15.00 each (cash only).

2024 Planning and Organisation

Organisation for 2024 is high on our agenda. If you feel there is information about your child that we should consider for class placement in 2024, please put your request in writing. Please submit requests in writing to the Principal by Friday 24 November 2023. Please include the child’s name, current class, request and reason for the request. Please note: All requests remain confidential and will be considered, but there is no guarantee that requests can be met.

Eglinton Public School attendance as at 12th October 2023

Last Week: 90.7%

This week: 90.5%

Goal: 95%

Did you know that for your child to achieve an attendance rate of 95% each term they should have no more than 2 days off.

You can check your child's attendance rate on the Sentral Parents App. Click on their photo, select 'Student Details' and click on 'Attendance'. Our expected student attendance rate is above 95%. To maintain an attendance rate of above 90% a student should have no more than 5 days off a term.

Thank you for supporting us in reaching our attendance goal. The data above shows our current student attendance for the last week. Please ensure you contact the school via the Sentral Parent Portal if your child has a day off to explain their absence.
