During Term 3 in the MITS Alumni Boarding Houses, we focused our attention on bringing the students some after school Psycho-Education Wellbeing activities. We know that Wellbeing means so much more than just counselling, and we want the students to continue their learning in a range of different areas that support how they feel.
We have run sessions on what impact Drugs and Alcohol have on the body and brain, have been visited by some nutritionists from Swisse to teach us how to make healthy snacks, learnt about the fatal impact of fighting from our friends at the Pat Cronin Foundation and been visited by representatives from St Ignatius Church to support some of our students’ spiritual wellbeing.
Finally, the senior girls had a visit from PPEP Talk, a group specialising in talking to young people about Periods, Pain and Endometriosis.
This term we look forward to running more sessions with the students – and welcome any feedback or suggestions from students and their families.
