Term 4

This term will see all year levels participating in a textile unit. Each year skills such as weaving, sewing, printing and felting are built upon.

Foundation students will be printing and drawing on fabric, trying their hand at stitching, making a fabric collage and learning the basics of weaving.

The Year 1/2 level are using wool in a mixed media portrait collage, creating a dry needle felting landscape and improving their weaving skills.

Our Year 3/4 cohort are creating little 3D felted characters and using them in a stop motion project. They will also be completing a sewing project.

The Year 5/6 group will be completing a painted and stitched wall hanging of their initial. Then the Year 5’s will stitch a cute little Buddy Toy to gift to their incoming 2024 buddies, whilst the Year 6 students will commence their greatly anticipated Graduation Bears. This has been a project for many years at Donvale and many of the students have planned their bear designs from years ago. It is wonderful to see their excitement for this final primary school project.

Let the creativity flow!
