5-8 Community News

Dear 5-8 Families,

The last few weeks of this term have been incredibly busy. We want to commend all of the students for continuing to strive for success in each of their learning outcomes. You are welcome to view your child's Term 3 report on PAM where you will be able to see each of their assessment tasks.

It is an exciting time at the moment for a number of our students who are in the process of applying for a leadership position in 2024. Twelve Year 7 students have nominated themselves for a leadership position. Here is a link to the list of students who have nominated. We wish them all the very best - it takes courage and bravery to lead your community! Well done!

R U OK? Day was celebrated across our Community and throughout our TA spaces yesterday.

Cyrhil and Brodie have been promoting the lolly jar competition to raise awareness. Congratulations to Charlie C (pictured in our banner photo), who was our winner and gets to eat 1352 M&Ms. Don’t eat them all at once Charlie! Thank you to everyone for supporting this event.

Over the holidays please continue to check in with loved ones and ask them "R U OK?"

From a SOLE perspective, we have been working with our students to encourage them to apply a number of help seeking and conflict resolution strategies if they are finding themselves feeling bothered or frustrated. Please encourage your children to use some of these strategies as an opportunity to support their decision making and to promote positive social interactions.

We have loved watching the students welcome back their hats. It complements our wonderful uniform. If you need to purchase a hat, please see Kathy or Lee at the office. Please ensure that your children are in the correct uniform. A note is needed if your child isn't in the correct uniform. We have a beautiful uniform that should be worn with pride. Our school shirts are a wonderful representation of our fantastic and welcoming school community.

If you couldn't get to our 5-8 end of term assembly last week, you can view the presentation here. The work that has gone into some of the finished products presented at assembly is truly outstanding and the kids should be incredibly happy with their work!

A big thank you to our current student leaders, Paddy, Archer, Shylee, Penny, Olivia, Tayte, Will, Ella, Jayde and Antony for leading this presentation. You could not find a more enthusiastic group of students

If you or your child is keen to find out about Partnerships for the Future in 2024, there will be two information sessions on Tuesday 10th October.

Enjoy the wonderful weather over the holidays, take care, go Blues and the Lancaster Wombats ! (For once - holidays are normally booked).
